FAQ
What is “Mercaturan D&D”?
We’re opening bookable timeslots to play D&D at Sector Mercatura, an FLGS in Puchong who has kindly agreed to host us, in our attempt to once again regularly host D&D sessions/campaign.
What happens during an appointment?
The first session will be your personal session zero with the DM. We’ll discuss any prior knowledge about D&D, what genre of adventures you may wish to play, whether you prefer campaigns or one-shots, and perhaps character creation. If there are enough players during this first session, and if the players vibe with each other and agree to form a party together, we’ll proceed with booking the timeslots their next session, the start of a new campaign.
Can I join solo? What if there aren’t enough players?
Yes, you may come alone, in pairs, a trio, etc. Depending on how the session zero diagnosis goes, we may recommend you match/merge with other players, or existing party/groups.
Do I have to attend every week? Monthly?
Both are possible… the regularity depends entirely on the availability of the players/group: it could be weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or a combination of all the aforementioned frequencies, or whenever all the players/groups is next available.
What if I can’t commit to a party/group?
You may join our list of potential players whenever we do one-shots, and we’ll let you know if/when we begin to host drop-in sessions (e.g. Adventurers’ League.)
I’m not a beginner, may I join? // I’ve a character (sheet) created, and ready to go! // We’re an existing group of friends. Will you be our DM?

- The last time we used the event title, Roll for Initiative! was for our collaboration with TGV, in conjunction with the Honour Among Thieves movie. This would be the second time we hosted a massive day of D&D intro sessions…
- Up until nine (9) years ago, before the pandemic, DM Gray used to regularly host D&D TRPG sessions at Comics Mart (which was the unofficial embassy of D&DMY.) We briefly returned to Comics Mart for nostalgia’s sake on March 20, 2023 and hosted a beginner-friendly D&D session.
- This year, Gray personally hosted multiple in-depth beginner-friendly L2P sessions amongst our RPG Book Club meetups # #, and (for the first time) in an RPG Zone subsection of a larger event (something we used to do a lot of, before we first started organizing ITTD.my
