Flesh & Blood Malaysia National Championship 2025

Reading Time: 3 minutes

In partnership with LSSLegend Story Studios , Invictus Forge organized the event for the third time since 2022. The championship had previously been organized at their local store in IOI Mall Damansara (formerly known as Tropicana Gardens Mall) here in Kota Damansara.

To commemorate the occasion, the opening ceremony featured a special video appearance by Flesh and Blood creator James White, who addressed and welcomed the Malaysian community to the Nationals.

This year, Invictus Forge saw a higher number of participants and partnered with Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, to host the event at a bigger scale. A recognition of Flesh and Blood’s growing community and the flourishing TCGtrading card game community in the local scene.

Other notable sponsors included ChaTraMue, llaollao, and Slim Chickens, who provided players with refreshments and vouchers throughout the event. Supporting the competitive experience were vendors and partners such as PCGPremier Card Grading, Hermes Games Distribution, and Mythic Essential, who equipped participants with fresh sleeves for their game.

Flesh and Blood is a competitive TCG, created by LSS, designed for in-person play with deep strategic combat and unique hero-based gameplay. Players take on the role of powerful heroes, building decks around specific classes and abilities to outmaneuver opponents in tactical battles.

The championship also took place alongside the recent Flesh and Blood expansion, High Seas. The latest set introduced nautical lores, new mechanics to the game and a set of new pirate-themed heroes such as Gravy Bones, Puffin and Marlynn.

The tournament followed a structure set by LSS, featuring a blend of formats designed to test player’s versatility and mastery in the game. Day 1 consisted of nine Swiss rounds, with three rounds of Classic Constructed format, followed by three rounds of Booster Draft, and another three rounds of Classic Constructed.

This is to push players to adapt between deck-building precision and on-the-fly drafting skills. The Top 8 players from the first day would advance to Day 2 for a single elimination playoff using the Classic Constructed format, culminating in a high-stakes battle for the National Champion title.

The second day of the event also featured the World Championship Qualifier (WCQ), a high-level competition open to eligible players seeking a coveted invitation to the Flesh and Blood World Championship. Competitors brought a finely tuned deck to face off in strategic matches with no room for error.

To keep the energy high throughout the weekend, Invictus Forge introduced a variety of side events and mini games designed to engage both competitors and casual attendees. The festivities began on 4th of July with a Super Armory event, offering players an early chance to warm up before Nationals.

Over the main two days, on-demand side events such as High Seas Sealed and Arcane Rising Sealed, and a lineup of mini games including Sleeve ‘Em Fastest, Wager Gold and X Marks the Spot kept the venue buzzing with excitement.

A newly introduced Prize Wall system, fueled by Prize Tix earned through participation and victories, added an extra layer of fun, allowing attendees to redeem tickets for exclusive treasures like merchandise, accessories and even booster boxes– if they’re lucky!
